98.9% of residents of Kyzylorda region are provided with a centralized drinking water system, 1% with decentralized water, and 0.1% with portable drinking water. In the region as a whole, mainly underground water sources are used.

Today, there are 203 water supply facilities under the control of the sanitary-epidemiological control department of Kyzylorda region, including: 186 water pipes of centralized systems and 17 decentralized water supply facilities.

In the 1st quarter of 2025, 424 water samples were taken from centralized water supply facilities for microbiological indicators. no discrepancy detected.  

393 samples were taken for the sanitary-chemical parameters of drinking water, 13 of them were found to be non-compliant, the percentage of non-compliant samples was 3.31 percent (non-compliant water samples were detected in Zhalaghash, Shieli districts and Kyzylorda city). Inconsistency in terms of sanitary-chemical indicators was mostly found above the norm: dry waste, chlorides, sulfates.

No morbidity related to the water factor was registered among the population.
