Cairo, April 17, 2025 – Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Egypt Askar Zhengis held a meeting with the Governor of South Sinai Province Khaled Mubarak Hussein Bakri in the city of Sharm el-Sheikh.

Bakri warmly welcomed the Kazakh diplomat and acknowledged great interest in strengthening ties between the South Sinai province and the regions of Kazakhstan. He also noted that the increase in the number of tourists from Kazakhstan is a positive fact for Egypt and is very important for the country’s economy. He called on Kazakhstani entrepreneurs to implement infrastructure projects in Sharm el-Sheikh and the region as a whole, assuring their readiness to continue to provide high-level tourism services to their Kazakh .

Ambassador Zhengis, supporting the initiatives of the governor, noted that today much attention is paid to the development of the tourism industry in Kazakhstan. He invited to exchange experience in this area and proposed developing brotherly relations between regions of Kazakhstan with rich tourism potential and South Sinai.

Also during the meeting, the sides discussed in detail measures to ensure the safe and comfortable stay of Kazakh citizens in Sharm el-Sheikh.

During the visit to Sharm el-Sheikh, Ambassador Zhengis held an audience with other officials from the region, exchanging of views on issues of mutual interest.
