Gizat Nurdauletov took part in the second meeting of secretaries of security councils of Central Asian countriesThe second meeting of secretaries of security councils of Central Asian countries was held in Samarkand, which was attended by Secretary of the Security Council of the Republic of Kazakhstan Gizat Nurdauletov.

During the event, the participants exchanged views on topical areas of regional security, including countering terrorism, extremism, radicalisation and transnational organised crime.

The parties discussed the development of co-operation in the field of environmental and water-energy security in Central Asia.

Joint efforts to ensure transport security in the Central Asian region and develop its transit and transport potential were also on the agenda.

The Secretary of the Security Council of Kazakhstan informed his colleagues about the position of our country on these issues, and also made a number of proposals on further development of co-operation in the sphere of water and energy security. The need to intensify information exchange in order to effectively counter the challenges of international terrorism and the spread of extremist ideology was noted.

Following the meeting, a protocol was signed, in which the parties fixed specific directions for further co-operation to strengthen regional security.
