On the eve of Defender of the Fatherland Day and the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, employees of the Department of the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Combating Corruption in the East Kazakhstan region, together with members of the National Guard, congratulated a veteran of the home front, retired Lieutenant Colonel Gagarin Ivan Fedorovich. The solemn event was held at the veteran's house. The National Guard Military Band performed wartime songs, creating an atmosphere of patriotism and respect. To the sounds of melodies familiar to every generation, Ivan Fedorovich was presented with letters of thanks on behalf of the Regional State Institution "Regional Command "Shygys", as well as memorable gifts from the Anti-Corruption Service of the East Kazakhstan region. On behalf of the Anti-Corruption Service of East Kazakhstan Region, the veteran was congratulated by the first Deputy head of the Department, Asylkhan Ashikov. Ivan Fedorovich Gagarin is 91 years old. From an early age, he had to learn the difficulties of wartime — from the age of seven, little Vanya helped the collective farm: he tended calves, tended seedlings, and worked alongside adults. In September 1954, he was drafted into the army, where he devoted almost 33 years of his life to service. From 1992 to 1996, Ivan Fedorovich headed the Council of Veterans of military unit 6638. During his years of service, he was awarded high state awards: the Order "For Service to the Motherland in the Armed Forces of the USSR" III degree, the medal "For Military Valor in commemoration of the 100th anniversary of Lenin", the medal "Veteran of the Armed Forces of the USSR", as well as many jubilee and departmental awards. Even today, being on a well-deserved vacation, Ivan Fedorovich remains an active participant in the public life of the regional command "Shygys" and the veteran organization, contributing to the patriotic education of young people, passing on his invaluable experience and knowledge to new generations. Ivan Fedorovich's congratulations have become a symbol of generational continuity and recognition of the merits of the older generation, who, through their work and service, laid a solid foundation for peace and security in our country.
