In order to ensure law and order in the field of education, as well as the prevention of corruption on the eve of the end of the school year, the Department of the Agency for Combating Corruption in the East Kazakhstan region, together with the Department of Education of the region, held a meeting with the heads of educational institutions in the region. The event was attended by the directors of colleges, schools and kindergartens. Asylkhan Ashikov, First Deputy Head of the Anti-Corruption Service for East Kazakhstan Region, explained in detail the norms of the country's anti-corruption legislation to the participants of the event, and also familiarized them with the results of an external analysis of corruption risks in the field of education. He paid special attention to the problematic issues that arise during the implementation of the Favorit cloud accounting system. At the same time, on the eve of the end of the academic year, A.Ashikov separately focused on the inadmissibility of illegal collection of funds and gifts from graduates. "The Agency's 1424 call center receives requests from parents about extortion at schools. The largest influx of them occurs precisely at the end of the school year. We have a tradition of financially thanking teachers, principals and other staff for their hard work. However, it is important to remember that this is contrary to current legislation. Collecting money for gifts is prohibited. Graduates can express their gratitude by presenting a traditional bouquet of flowers, taking part in charity initiatives, or, for example, planting a tree," A.Ashikov emphasized. In turn, the Deputy head of the East Kazakhstan Region Education Department, A.Akhmadieva, spoke about the implementation of anti-corruption projects in educational institutions in the region, such as "Adal urpaq", "Sanaly urpaq", "Comprehensive Plan to promote academic integrity among young people", as well as "Anti-Corruption volunteering". At the end of the meeting, the parties stressed the importance of working together to create a culture of honesty, transparency and zero tolerance for corruption in the educational environment.
