Kazakhstan and Tajikistan Strengthen Customs Cooperation: Protocol on Advance Information Exchange Signed

       On May 21, 2025, in Almaty, during the Second Meeting of the Heads of Customs Services of Central Asian Countries and China, bilateral negotiations were held between Zhandos  Duisembiyev, Chairman of the State Revenue Committee of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and Khurshed Karimzoda, Head of the Customs Service under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan.

       During the meeting, the parties discussed the current state and prospects for the development of bilateral cooperation in the customs sphere, with a special focus on the digitalization of customs administration.

       A key outcome of the negotiations was the signing of the Protocol on the Exchange of Advance Customs Information, as well as the agreement on the Technical Conditions for Information Exchange, which define the data format, communication channels, and measures for ensuring information security.

       The implementation of this document will enhance the transparency of foreign economic activity, enable advance risk analysis, and improve control efficiency without causing delays in the movement of goods.

       The Kazakh side expressed its readiness to further deepen cooperation with the Customs Service of the Republic of Tajikistan, including through regular working consultations and on-site meetings. This approach will allow prompt responses to emerging issues, strengthen mutual understanding, and enhance the effectiveness of joint work in the movement of goods and vehicles.

       Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to developing a strategic bilateral partnership based on mutual respect and trust.
