As part of the promotion of the "Law and Order" narrative in society and ensuring broad public involvement in anti-corruption activities, a regular meeting of the Anti-Corruption Committee under the Public Council of the East Kazakhstan region was held. The agenda included topical issues related to the implementation of the recommendations of the Anti-Corruption Service of East Kazakhstan Region and the results of an external analysis in the field of corruption risk prevention. One of the key issues of the meeting was the implementation of the recommendations of the Anti-Corruption Service of East Kazakhstan Region on decommissioning of five hydraulic structures that pose a potential security threat. According to the information presented at the meeting, the work on the withdrawal of two facilities in the Shemonaikha district has already been completed, three more in the Glubokovsky and Samarsky districts are at the completion stage. Considerable attention was paid to the results of an external analysis of corruption risks in the activities of the municipal state enterprise under the right of economic management "Taza Oskemen". The analysis revealed systemic violations: inefficient use of budget funds, violations in the field of public procurement and labor legislation. In order to eliminate the identified risks, the company has developed and is implementing an action plan based on the recommendations of the anti-corruption agency. The progress of its implementation is under control. Another important topic of the meeting was the discussion of the progress of the project for the reconstruction and technical re-equipment of the Maykapchagai checkpoint in Zaisan district. The deadline for completion of the project is set for December 31, 2025. Due to the limited time to complete the work, the Anti-Corruption Service of East Kazakhstan Region, together with members of the Public Council of East Kazakhstan Region, sent recommendations to the state revenue authorities aimed at preventing delays in implementation and ensuring proper control over the effective disbursement of funds. Following the discussion, the meeting participants exchanged views, noting the importance and relevance of the issues raised by the Anti-Corruption Service of East Kazakhstan region. It was emphasized that openness, public control and systematic work to reduce corruption risks are the basis for the formation of fair and transparent public administration in the region.
