Kazakhstan is interested in further implementing joint projects with ITF

Ljubljana, June 23, 2025 – The Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Slovenia Daniyar Sarekenov met with the Director of ITF Enhancing Human Security Tomaž Lovrenčič.

ITF Enhancing Human Security is an international humanitarian non-profit organization established by the Government of Slovenia in 1998. The organization’s main areas of activity include demining, assistance to victims of anti-personnel mines, reduction of surplus weapons with expired shelf life, and management of ammunition storage. Throughout its work, ITF has implemented projects in Europe, the Middle East, Central Asia, South America, and Africa. ITF provides expert and technical assistance to Kazakhstan in the disposal and safe destruction of obsolete ammunition.

During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for expanding cooperation in experience sharing, implementing international standards, and introducing innovative solutions in projects carried out in Kazakhstan.

The Ambassador of Kazakhstan noted ITF’s significant contribution to security, emphasizing the importance of further expanding the organization’s activities in the country.

ITF Director T.Lovrenčič expressed interest in strengthening cooperation with Kazakhstan, highlighting the organization’s successful experience in implementing over 3,100 projects in 30 countries worldwide and stressing the importance of joint efforts to reduce threats.

The parties agreed to continue dialogue and explore the possibility of implementing joint initiatives aimed at enhancing security and protecting the civilian population.
