The festival was announced in February, and during this time the organizers traveled across all regions of Kazakhstan. In May, they visited Abai district to film the kumys-making process and promote the efforts of local participants.

On July 19–20, at the "BaiQymyz" gastrofestival in Astana, the “Sarzhal” kumys brand, representing Abai Region, won 1st place.

Over 50 participants from across the country competed, presenting the best samples of the national drink — kumys. Six selected teams from Abai district took part, including 3 farming enterprises and 2 LLCs under the “Sarzhal” brand. A total of 1,300 liters of kumys was delivered and was highly praised for its taste and quality.

We sincerely congratulate the winners who glorified the region, famously known for the saying: “Sary dala – Sarzhal, sary kumys – sary bal” ("Golden steppe – Sarzhal, golden kumys – golden honey").

Additionally, Saulet Anuarov, owner of “Adil Qymyz” from the village of Karauyl, won the “Silver Torsyk” nomination and was awarded a 500,000 tenge certificate.
