Abu Dhabi, September 1, 2025 – A screening of the feature film “Composer”, a 2019 co-production between Kazakhstan and China dedicated to the life and creative legacy of Chinese composer Xian Xinghai, took place in Abu Dhabi.

The event was organized by the Embassy of China in the UAE, the Chinese Cultural Center in the UAE, and the Abu Dhabi Cultural Foundation to mark the 80th anniversary of Victory in World War II.

The historical drama tells the story of the prominent Chinese composer Xian Xinghai, who, during World War II, was evacuated to Almaty, where he formed a profound friendship with young Kazakh composer B. Baikadamov.

In his opening remarks, H.E. Zhang Yiming, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to the UAE, emphasized that the film has become a symbol of strengthened cultural interaction between Kazakhstan and China, as well as an important contribution to the development of people-to-people diplomacy.

The screening was not only a cultural event, but also a vivid reminder of the power of art to unite peoples and nations.
