On September 8, 2025, the city of Turkestan hosted the 11th Meeting of the Heads of Customs Administrations of the Organization of Turkic States. Within the framework of this event, a bilateral meeting was held between the Chairman of the State Revenue Committee of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Chairman of the Customs Committee under the Ministry of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Akmalkhuja Mavlonov.

      During the negotiations, the parties discussed current issues of cooperation in the customs sphere, the implementation of existing agreements, as well as further steps to deepen the partnership.

      As a result of the meeting, an Agreement on Cooperation between Customs Laboratories of the two agencies was signed. The document is aimed at strengthening practical cooperation, developing expert capacity, and improving the efficiency of customs administration.

     The parties also addressed issues related to the reconstruction and modernization of border crossing points on the Kazakhstan–Uzbekistan border, measures to simplify border crossing procedures, and the digitalization of customs administration.

      In addition, the discussions touched upon the parity exchange of foreign permit forms and the implementation of the pilot project “Seamless Transit.”

      Signing of the agreement and the achieved arrangements confirmed the high level of cooperation between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan in the customs sphere, as well as the mutual interest in further strengthening the strategic partnership.
