Warsaw, 16 September 2025 – A meeting took place between the Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Republic of Poland, Nurlan Zhalgasbayev, and the Deputy Minister of the Interior and Administration of the Republic of Poland, Maciej Duszczyk.

During the talks, the parties discussed issues of bilateral cooperation in the migration and visa sphere, as well as interaction between the competent authorities of both countries. Special attention was given to the support of the Polish side in the process of Kazakhstan’s negotiations with the European Union on visa facilitation. Ambassador N. Zhalgasbayev emphasized that Poland’s active position could be an important factor in accelerating decision-making at the level of EU institutions.

The need to update the bilateral legal framework in the visa sphere was also discussed, in particular the signing of the Protocol on Amendments to the 2007 Agreement, which would extend the visa-free regime not only to holders of diplomatic passports but also to holders of official (service) passports.

Another topic of the meeting was the issues related to restrictions for Kazakh carriers due to the temporary closure of the Poland–Belarus border. The parties noted that revisiting this issue after the removal of restrictions would allow for practical solutions that contribute to strengthening trade and economic cooperation.

The Polish side also expressed interest in signing an agreement in the labor sphere, which would promote the protection of workers’ rights and the development of business contacts between the two countries.

The meeting concluded with a confirmation of the intention to continue close cooperation and to further develop bilateral partnership between Kazakhstan and Poland.
