The Head of State received Tim Gitzel, President of Cameco Corporation

The President's working visit to New York City began with a meeting with the head of a Canadian multinational company. The meeting discussed the prospects for cooperation in the field of uranium mining.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted that Cameco is a long-standing reliable partner of the national company Kazatomprom. Since its launch in the country, the company has invested more than $500 million and contributed to technology transfer.

According to the Head of State, Kazakhstan is entering a new stage of energy development and plans to build three nuclear power plants in the near future. Our country is interested in innovative approaches used in the nuclear industry.

Tim Gitzel briefed the President on the current activities and plans of the Inkai joint venture, which has been developing the deposit in the Turkestan region for a quarter of a century.
