The meeting reviewed the progress of PepsiCo's investment project in Kazakhstan.

The world-famous brand has begun construction of a snack production plant in the Almaty region. The investment volume is $368 million.

The President drew attention to the economic benefits expected from the project's implementation. In addition to creating about 900 permanent jobs, the company intends to grow potatoes for crisps locally.

According to Stephen Kehoe, today about 15 farms from Pavlodar, Akmola, Karaganda, Almaty and Zhetysu regions have joined the program. In addition, it is planned to expand the storage base of raw materials and apply a scientific approach to increase the yield and quality of potatoes.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev expressed support for PepsiCo's initiative to develop sustainable agriculture, saying that the Government and local akimats will do everything possible to ensure the timely launch of production.
