On September 20, 2025, a large-scale citywide cleanup event entitled "Clean City" took place in Shymkent. Government agencies, employees of various departments and institutions, and district services actively participated in this environmental campaign. The Al-Farabi district was one of the leaders in terms of the number of participants and the volume of work completed. The main goal of the cleanup event was to improve the city's sanitary conditions, raise environmental awareness among the population, and create a favorable, clean, and safe environment for residents.
The Al-Farabi District Akim's Office (Al-Farabi KGKP) was one of the main organizers of the event. 100 employees participated in the cleanup, using seven pieces of equipment. Thanks to their efforts, 20 tons of waste were collected and removed. This achievement speaks volumes about the scale of the work accomplished, as well as the high level of organization of the team. The employees not only removed solid waste but also cut down dead branches, mowed the grass, washed roads and sidewalks, cleaned container sites, and performed other sanitation tasks.
The Housing Department also made a significant contribution to the cleanup. Twenty-five department employees participated in the cleanup, removing approximately 0.5 tons of trash. Their primary focus was on the sanitary condition of courtyards and residential areas, as well as the improvement of waste disposal sites. In addition, department representatives conducted outreach to residents, emphasizing the importance of maintaining the cleanliness of their courtyards and neighborhoods.
The Department of Urban Environment Quality and Control dispatched 35 employees and two pieces of equipment. During the cleanup, they collected approximately 0.4 tons of trash. Their primary focus was public spaces: parks, squares, playgrounds, and sports fields. The employees removed small debris, leaves, and dust, significantly improving the appearance of neighborhood areas.
The Department of Energy and Infrastructure Development also contributed. They dispatched 32 employees and two pieces of equipment. Their work resulted in the removal of 0.37 tons of debris from the area. They also paid attention to areas adjacent to utility lines, lighting poles, and other infrastructure, ensuring their order and safety.
The Department of Education also contributed. Forty-five employees participated in the cleanup, collecting approximately 0.4 tons of trash. The work was primarily conducted on school and kindergarten grounds. The school courtyards were cleaned, shrubs were trimmed, and accumulated trash was removed. This type of work has significant educational value, as students, seeing the example of their elders, learn to respect hard work and care for the environment of their hometown.
The Department of Religious Affairs played a key role in the cleanup. It deployed over 700 employees and three pieces of equipment. Thanks to their combined efforts, 0.54 tons of trash were collected and removed. The focus was on cleaning the grounds of mosques, religious buildings, and public spaces. The massive participation of this department's employees was a clear example of how the spiritual sphere of society also plays a vital role in maintaining cleanliness and order.
Overall, 937 employees and 14 pieces of equipment participated in the cleanup in the Al-Farabi district. Together, they collected and removed 22.21 tons of waste. This result can be considered a significant contribution to improving the sanitary conditions of the district and the city as a whole.
The main types of work carried out within the framework of the campaign include:
cutting down dry trees and branches that interfere with landscaping;
mowing grass and mown vegetation in courtyards and vacant areas;
washing roads, sidewalks and pedestrian paths with special equipment;
cleaning and sanitization of waste disposal sites;
collection and removal of solid household waste, leaves and other garbage;
general measures to restore order on the streets and in courtyards.
It's important to note that the "Clean City" cleanup day wasn't limited to just cleanup. It also had an educational purpose, drawing public attention to environmental issues and fostering a responsible attitude toward the environment. The participation of a large number of employees from various departments demonstrated that only through joint efforts can tangible results in improving the city be achieved.
Such events not only promote cleanup but also foster environmental awareness among residents. Anyone who witnesses or participates in a cleanup understands that the city's cleanliness depends on the efforts of all citizens. The motto "A Clean City, a Clean Society" is truly embodied in such events.
The Al-Farabi District intends to continue holding such events on a regular basis. The district administration emphasizes that maintaining cleanliness should become a daily habit, as this is the only way to keep the city comfortable and attractive for everyone.
In conclusion, the cleanup day on September 20, 2025, in the Al-Farabi district was a success. Thanks to the participation of 937 employees and the work of 14 pieces of equipment, the district was cleared of over 22 tons of waste.
