Kuala Lumpur, September 17–20, 2025 - A Kazakhstan trade delegation, led by the Minister of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Arman Shakkaliyev, took part in the Malaysia International Halal Showcase (MIHAS) — a major international exhibition of the halal industry. MIHAS is the largest platform in Southeast Asia, bringing together leading halal product manufacturers and buyers from around the world.

Kazakhstan’s national pavilion was one of the largest and most prominent at the exhibition, where 20 domestic exporting companies showcased a wide range of products — from food and agro-industrial goods to processed products and halal services.

On the sidelines of the exhibition, the "Kazakhstan Networking Session" business forum was held, during which Kazakh participants presented the country’s trade and investment potential. The forum concluded with a B2B session, allowing domestic exporters to hold direct negotiations with leading Malaysian companies.

In his welcoming remarks at the forum, Minister A. Shakkaliyev emphasized that Kazakhstan is open to dialogue and ready for active, mutually beneficial cooperation with Malaysia. This cooperation aims at sustainable economic growth for both countries, trade diversification, and the implementation of joint projects across sectors such as metallurgy, food processing, mechanical engineering, chemicals, and transport logistics. These goals are especially relevant in light of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s Address dated September 8, 2025, which announced the launch of a new investment cycle focused on developing manufacturing, high technology, and the digital economy.

MATRADE Chairman Rizal Merican Naina Merican noted that the signed Memorandum of Understanding between MATRADE and QazTrade lays a solid foundation for deepening trade cooperation, exchanging market information, and expanding interaction between our business communities. It is a clear signal of our mutual commitment to elevating economic relations between Malaysia and Kazakhstan to a new level.

Kazakhstan’s participation in MIHAS-2025 marked an important step in strengthening its position in the Southeast Asian market. It contributed to increasing recognition of domestic products, expanding business contacts, and establishing a strong foundation for further export growth and investment attraction.
