As part of the new school year, Örken East Kazakhstan Regional Scientific and Methodological Center for Informatization and Education Development of Education Administration of East Kazakhstan region held a thematic lesson on fire safety rules in schools. The speaker of the meeting was Madina Seitkamza, Senior Engineer of the State Fire Control Department, Major of Civil Protection.
The session emphasized safety measures for students in case of fire. Madina Seitkamza stressed that one of the most common causes of school fires is careless handling of fire or prohibited items such as matches, lighters, and fireworks. She emphasized that bringing them to school is strictly prohibited.
The speaker explained the rules of evacuation: how to follow emergency exit plans, the dangers of obstructing stairways, and actions to take in case of heavy smoke.
Special emphasis was placed on the fact that smoke is often more dangerous than flames, so it is important to act quickly and competently - stay low to the ground and use improvised respiratory protection when evacuating.
The lesson also addressed difficult situations, such as: for example, what to do if fire blocks the classroom exit or if a person’s clothes catches fire. Madina Seitkamza gave practical life-saving advice on how to act correctly to minimize risks and save lives.
The Major of Civil Protection also reminded students and teachers of the importance of regular fire drills to practice actions in children and adults until they become second nature, ensuring they are prepared for real emergencies.
Concluding the meeting, the speaker wished the children a safe school year and reminded them that knowing and following fire safety rules is equally important at school and at home.
