In celebration of the Day of the Elderly in the city of Kurchatov, an educational excursion to the exposition hall of the National Nuclear Center was organized for veterans. The event was initiated by the Chairman of the Council of Veterans of the city, G.K. Zhumadilov. Veterans got acquainted with the museum's exhibits reflecting the history of the Semipalatinsk test site, as well as with materials telling about the development of atomic science and peaceful atom in Kazakhstan. The exposition allowed the participants to recall the pages of the past and take a fresh look at the contribution that was made to strengthen the scientific and defense potential of the country. Such meetings not only contribute to the preservation of historical memory, but also allow veterans to feel the attention and care of society. The tour became an opportunity for them to spend time together on the eve of the holiday, exchange memories and feel a sense of belonging to important pages of the history of their hometown.
