In Algeria, the musical work “Közimnyn Qarasy” by the great Kazakh poet Abai Kunanbaiuly was performed.

The work was first performed in Algeria by Kazakh and Algerian musicians at the famous Notre-Dame d’Afrique Basilica, one of the symbols of Algeria’s cultural heritage.

The presentation of the great thinker’s legacy within the walls of a place of worship that symbolizes Algeria’s cultural and spiritual diversity was a distinctive manifestation of dialogue among cultures and a testament to the universal nature of Abai’s humanistic ideas.

The musical work was performed with piano and two violins. The piano part was performed by Kazakh pianist Aliya Akhmetova-Salviat, while the violin parts were performed by Vera Ait-Tahar and Sid Ali Ghida, musicians of the State Symphony Orchestra of Algeria. Poet Yulia Eldaroff also took part in the concert.

The performance of “Közimnyn Qarasy” was a vivid example of how Abai’s musical and poetic legacy contributes to fostering mutual understanding among peoples, strengthening cultural ties, and promoting the values of mutual understanding and harmony.
