Vehicles with an electric motor (HS code 8703 80 000 2), in accordance with subparagraph 7.1.38 of paragraph 7 of the Decision of the Customs Union Commission dated November 27, 2009 No. 130 (hereinafter referred to as Decision No. 130), are subject to tariff relief when imported into the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

At the same time, this Decision established a quota of 15,000 electric vehicles that can be imported at a discounted rate.

As of September 25, 2025, 13,081 electric vehicles were imported into the country, which is 87.2% of the total quota.

Thus, it is currently possible to import another 1,919 electric vehicles on preferential terms. Important: citizens planning to purchase an electric car and import it into the country are advised to take into account the remaining quota in order to be able to take advantage of the current tariff benefit.
