Saarbrücken, October 14, 2025 – A festive cultural event dedicated to the "October 25 – Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan" was held in Saarbrücken, Germany. As part of the celebration, the “Qazaq Eli” ensemble and solo artists from the Zhambyl Regional Philharmonic named after Kenen Azirbayev, supported by the Akimat of the Zhambyl Region, presented a rich and heartfelt concert program titled “Kazakhstan – My Blessed Homeland.”
The event was jointly organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Federal Republic of Germany, the Consulate General in Frankfurt am Main, and the Saarland Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK Saarland). It became a vivid symbol of the growing cultural cooperation between Kazakhstan and Germany and further strengthened the bridge of friendship between the two nations. Dedicated to the preservation and promotion of traditional Kazakh music and cultural heritage, the evening left a lasting impression on the audience.
The event was attended by representatives of the Saarland regional government, cultural, artistic, and educational institutions, members of the Kazakh diaspora in Germany, the local business community, as well as residents and guests of Saarbrücken.
In his opening remarks, Mr. Taubaldy Umbetbayev, Consul General of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Frankfurt am Main, emphasized the development of strategic ties and mutual trust between the two countries:
“Kazakhstan and Germany share a longstanding, close, and reliable partnership. Germany is a strategic partner for us in Europe. Today, our cooperation extends beyond politics and economics to include culture, education, and science. This cultural evening is a warm and sincere reflection of that partnership. Art is one of the most powerful instruments to connect people — heart to heart,” said Mr. Umbetbayev.
Dr. Frank Thomé, Chief Executive Officer of IHK Saarland, also highlighted the dynamic growth of economic relations between Kazakhstan and the Saarland:
“Trade between the Saarland and Kazakhstan has increased significantly in recent years. But we aim to go beyond just mutually beneficial economic projects. Through cultural events like this, we seek to deepen friendship and mutual understanding. Art is a universal language that strengthens both business partnerships and human connections,” noted Dr. Thomé.
The performers from Zhambyl captivated the German audience with traditional Kazakh melodies, skillfully bringing to life the profound philosophy and untouched nature of the Kazakh steppe through the sounds of the dombra, zhetygen, and kobyz.
The concert repertoire included a fusion of Kazakh classical and contemporary compositions, traditional folk pieces, and international works. Among them were Abai’s “Shining Moon in a Windless Night” and “Dark Eyes,” Kurmangazy’s “Serper,” Kazangap’s “Akzhelen,” and the famous “Berliner Luft” by Paul Lincke. Each performance was delivered with high artistic excellence, symbolizing a beautiful harmony between cultures. The concert concluded with the powerful and emotional song “Atameken,” which deeply moved the audience and evoked a profound sense of national pride.
This event will be remembered as an important cultural milestone — one that celebrated friendship, mutual respect, and the international promotion of Kazakh art and cultural identity.
