European Engineering Leader Strengthens Cooperation with Kazakhstan

Aalst, Belgium, 16 October 2025 – Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Belgium Roman Vassilenko visited the headquarters of the Belgian engineering group Jan De Nul (JDN), one of the world’s leaders in dredging, marine, and offshore engineering.

During the meeting with the company’s CEO, Julie De Nul, the parties discussed prospects for further cooperation in implementing infrastructure projects in Kazakhstan. In particular, they reviewed JDN’s experience in developing the Port of Kuryk and explored potential participation in the modernization of port infrastructure in Aktau.

Ambassador Vassilenko emphasized that Kazakhstan attaches great importance to partnerships with leading European companies that possess advanced technologies in marine engineering, sustainable construction, and renewable energy. He underlined that Jan De Nul Group’s expertise and technical capacity can make a significant contribution to the development of Kazakhstan’s infrastructure, especially in the context of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (Middle Corridor).

“We view Jan De Nul Group as one of Kazakhstan’s key European partners, whose cutting-edge technologies and engineering expertise can contribute to the modernization of port infrastructure and the development of green energy in our country,” the Ambassador noted.
