Results of the “Clean City” citywide Saturday work in Al-Farabi district

On October 4, 2025, the city-wide “Clean City” Saturday work was held in the Al-Farabi district of Shymkent. This event was organized to improve the sanitary condition of the district, promote environmental culture and improve the quality of life of residents. The district's state institutions, entrepreneurs, public organizations and residents actively participated in the Saturday work. All work was carried out simultaneously in different areas of the district.
The Saturday was led by the district akimat staff. Akimat employees, including employees of the “Al-Farabi” KMM and “Taza Olke” LLP, actively participated in the event. They were provided with 15 special equipment, which allowed them to efficiently and quickly collect garbage, ensure traffic flow, and clean roads, sidewalks, and public places. The total number of employees of the district akimat staff was 400 people, who were divided into different groups and worked in specific areas.
In addition, 4,500 people from the district's residents, businesses, and institutions participated in the cleanup. They actively cleaned residential areas, shopping malls, parks, and streets. This event was an effective way to educate the population about sanitary culture and environmental responsibility.
The Housing Department mobilized 22 employees for Saturday and removed 0.2 tons of garbage. The work of this department was organized to clean the courtyards, porches, and public areas of residential buildings.
The City Environmental Quality and Control Department, with 35 employees and 2 vehicles, removed 1.6 tons of waste. This department is responsible for monitoring the environmental situation in the city and ensuring the cleanliness of public spaces.
The Department of Energy and Infrastructure Development removed 0.85 tons of garbage using 24 employees and 1 piece of equipment. They focused mainly on cleaning around utility lines, public places, and roadsides.
The Department of Education mobilized 32 employees and removed 0.9 tons of garbage. Work was organized to clean the yards of schools and colleges, as well as to provide environmental education to the younger generation.
The Department of Religious Affairs , which included the Ministry of Religious Affairs, the Shymkent City Office of the Ministry of Religious Affairs, and other organizations, removed 2 tons of garbage using 4,350 employees and 5 vehicles. This work was aimed at ensuring the cleanliness of mosques, religious centers, and public places.
During the weekend, various works were carried out in the district. First of all, dead trees and branches were cut down, and yards and streets were cleaned. This was not only for aesthetic purposes, but also to ensure the safety of residents.
Grass cutting was carried out, making the streets and public spaces look attractive and safe. Roads and sidewalks were washed, which helped create a clean and comfortable environment for residents. Garbage dumpsters, containers and bins were cleaned, and accumulated garbage was removed with special equipment.
As part of the general cleaning work, streets and bus stops, parks, and public spaces were completely cleaned. In addition, waste was quickly removed with the help of special equipment, which increased the efficiency of the Sabbath.
The participants of the Sabbath showed themselves to be active. Akimat employees coordinated the work and ensured safety measures. Entrepreneurs and institutions provided their employees and equipment, residents and volunteers cleaned their yards, streets, and local squares. All participants were encouraged to contribute to the promotion of a sanitary culture and take environmental responsibility.
As a result of the campaign, the sanitary situation in the Al-Farabi district has improved significantly:
In total, 9,363 employees and 23 pieces of equipment were mobilized across the district, and 25.55 tons of garbage were removed ;
