On October 4, 2025, a citywide cleanup event, "Clean City," took place in the Al-Farabi district of Shymkent. A total of 400 employees of the district akim's office participated in the work, divided into teams based on specific areas.
In addition to government employees, 4,500 district residents, entrepreneurs, and employees of organizations participated in the cleanup. Other participating organizations
The Housing Department dispatched 22 employees to the cleanup day, who removed 0.2 tons of trash. The main task was to tidy up the courtyards and entrances of apartment buildings, as well as the surrounding areas.
The Department of Urban Environment Quality and Control deployed 35 employees and two pieces of equipment, removing 1.6 tons of waste. The focus was on maintaining the sanitary condition of public spaces and ensuring their cleanliness.
The Department of Energy and Infrastructure Development dispatched 24 employees and one piece of equipment, removing 0.85 tons of waste. Work was carried out on utility lines, roads, and sidewalks.
The Department of Education provided 32 employees and removed 0.9 tons of waste. They cleaned school and college grounds and conducted environmental education activities among young people.
The Department of Religious Affairs , including the KMM and the KMDB office in Shymkent, provided 4,350 personnel and five pieces of equipment. They cleaned the grounds of mosques, religious centers, and adjacent public spaces, ensuring sanitary cleanliness and order.
During the cleanup day, the following work was carried out in the district:
Removal of dead trees and pruning of branches to ensure safety and aesthetic appearance of streets;
Mowing grass on streets, in parks and public spaces;
Washing roads and sidewalks, which improved sanitary conditions and ease of movement;
Cleaning of waste areas, containers and trays;
Removal of collected waste using special equipment;
General cleaning of streets, courtyards and public areas;

In total, 9,363 employees took part in the cleanup and 23 pieces of equipment were used;

The general sanitary level of the area has been significantly improved.
