Budapest, October 24, 2025 - The Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Hungary organized a festive event in Budapest dedicated to the Republic Day of Kazakhstan. The celebration brought together Kazakh students studying at Hungarian universities as well as representatives of the Kazakh diaspora.
In his opening remarks, Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Hungary Abzal Saparbekuly congratulated the audience on the national holiday and highlighted the historical significance of the Declaration of Sovereignty, adopted 35 years ago. He noted that “this historic document enshrined the integrity of our land, the development of our national culture and language, and the right of our people to determine their own destiny. Thanks to that decision, today we live as an independent nation - the masters of our own fate.”
The Ambassador also spoke about Kazakhstan’s bright achievements over the years of independence and the new goals set for the nation’s development, expressing confidence that the future of the country lies in the hands of its hardworking, educated, and creative youth. He emphasized that Kazakhstan has entered a new stage of development — striving to build a Just Kazakhstan based on integrity, intellect, and diligence.
The event continued with performances of traditional Kazakh songs and instrumental pieces. Hungarian performer Timea Janurik presented the compositions “Alqissa,” “Arys Zhasynda,” and “Aq Bayan,” while Zoltán Husni performed the famous dombra piece “Adai.” Kazakh students Alima Gabzhalilova, Rakhad Zhanaakhmet, Nargiz Kenesova, Yerzat Narima, and Zhanabay Aidana showcased their dombra playing and dance performances, presenting “Korkyt,” “Alqissa,” “Makhambet - Zhumyr Qylysh” and traditional Kazakh folk dances.
During the event, several young volunteers who had actively participated in organizing the President of Kazakhstan’s official visits to Hungary were awarded Letters of Appreciation on behalf of the Ambassador. This gesture symbolized recognition of young people who continue to serve their homeland even while abroad.
Guests also took part in traditional Kazakh games such as “Asyq Atu” and “Arqan Tartys”. The evening also featured the official launch of the “Hungarian-Kazakh Ethnosport and Cultural Association,” led by Zhanargul Fenvesi.
At the end of the celebration, guests were treated to national Kazakh dishes prepared by the spouses of Embassy staff, creating a warm and friendly atmosphere filled with conversations, memories, and new connections.
This gathering became a meaningful celebration that strengthened the bonds among Kazakh youth abroad and deepened the friendship between the Kazakh and Hungarian peoples. Even far from home, participants felt the spirit of the Republic and shared the warmth of their homeland in the heart of Budapest.
