Today, the city of Shymkent hosted the national campaign "People's Lawyer," aimed at increasing legal literacy and providing citizens with free legal assistance.
The event was attended by Shymkent City Prosecutor Gabit Mukanov, Deputy Akim Sarsen Kuranbek, representatives of forty-two government and law enforcement agencies, as well as private bailiffs, notaries, lawyers, and utility company specialists. Volunteer organizations also participated in the event with the support of the city's youth.
Visitors received free legal consultations from leading experts and were able to obtain specific answers to their questions.
The "People's Lawyer" project has become a sought-after and effective platform for improving legal literacy and providing legal support to citizens. Since 2016, the initiative has been running throughout the republic, providing citizens with free consultations from qualified lawyers and government officials.
Shymkent City Prosecutor Gabit Mukanov noted in his speech:
"As the ancient Greek philosopher Plato said: 'A strong state begins with protected citizens!' That's why representatives of all government and law enforcement agencies have gathered here today, in one place, to provide free and accessible legal assistance to everyone," the city prosecutor emphasized.
During the campaign, more than 1,000 Shymkent residents received free consultations on family, labor, land, civil, and administrative law.
In addition, citizens were informed about ways to protect their rights, the procedure for contacting government agencies, and opportunities to receive free legal assistance.
The Republican campaign "People's Lawyer" will continue its work, implementing initiatives aimed at increasing citizens' legal literacy and strengthening the principles of justice and the rule of law.
