On October 30, 2025, in Rome, at the Villa Grazioli Park, a solemn ceremony was held to unveil the bust of the great Kazakh thinker, poet, and enlightener Abai Qunanbaiuly.

The ceremony was attended by the Minister of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan Aida Balaeva, Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Italy Yerbolat Sembayev, members of the regional government of Rome, representatives of the Italian cultural society, as well as Kazakh students studying in Italy.

Minister of Culture and Information Aida Balaeva emphasized that Abai’s works have become the foundation of the spiritual, moral, and patriotic development of the Kazakh people. Abai Qunanbaiuly called for kindness, justice, enlightenment, hard work, and love for the Motherland.

The unveiling of Abai’s bust in the capital of Italy, in the year marking the 180th anniversary of his birth, became a significant event in bilateral relations, confirming the friendly ties between Kazakhstan and Italy.
