Strengthening Global Peace and Non-Proliferation Efforts

On October 28–29, 2025, Ambassador Kanat Tumysh participated as the representative of Kazakhstan in the Regional Consultations for States Parties to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT), held in Hanoi, Vietnam.

The consultations were organized as part of the preparatory process for the 2026 NPT Review Conference, providing a platform for regional representatives to exchange views, review progress, and reaffirm commitments under the treaty.

During the meeting, Ambassador Tumysh presented Kazakhstan’s perspectives on the NPT, emphasizing the country’s consistent stance on nuclear disarmament, non-proliferation, and the peaceful use of nuclear energy. He highlighted Kazakhstan’s unique historical experience as a nation that voluntarily renounced nuclear weapons and continues to advocate for a world free of nuclear threats.

The participation of Kazakhstan reaffirmed the country’s active engagement and constructive role in promoting global peace, security, and dialogue on disarmament within the framework of the United Nations and international partnerships.
