Ljubljana, 5 November 2025 – A solemn ceremony took place at the Presidential Palace, during which the Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Republic of Slovenia, Mr. Altay Abibullayev, presented his Letters of Credence to the President of Slovenia, H.E. Dr. Nataša Pirc Musar.
During the official meeting, Ambassador Abibullayev conveyed greetings and best wishes on behalf of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, H.E. Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, and, pursuant to the agreements reached at the highest level following the official visit of the Slovenian Head of State to Kazakhstan, reaffirmed Kazakhstan’s strategic commitment to further expanding the political dialogue and deepening comprehensive cooperation with Slovenia across the full spectrum of bilateral interaction.
President Nataša Pirc Musar warmly congratulated the Ambassador on the commencement of his mission, expressing confidence that his work will contribute to further systematic and substantive development of friendly Slovenian-Kazakh relations and mutually beneficial partnership. She expressed her profound appreciation to President Tokayev for the exceptional organization of her official visit to Astana in March 2025, highlighting the unforgettable warmth and genuine Kazakh hospitality, and underscored the strategic importance of the agreements reached at the highest level.
During the meeting, the parties discussed priority areas of Kazakh-Slovenian economic and investment cooperation, transport and logistics – with particular focus on the integration of the Port of Koper into the logistics architecture of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (the Middle Corridor) – as well as collaboration in artificial intelligence and digitalization, pharmaceuticals, education, culture, and tourism. Special satisfaction was expressed with Kazakhstan’s decision to elevate the political status of the co-chairs of the Intergovernmental Commission to the level of Deputy Prime Ministers, as well as the ongoing formation of a business council with the participation of interested business communities.
At the conclusion of the meeting, President Nataša Pirc Musar wished the Ambassador every success in his mission to strengthen relations between Kazakhstan and Slovenia, and, as a devoted admirer of the arts, conveyed her personal hope to explore possibilities for holding a Dimash Kudaibergen concert in Ljubljana in the near future.
