Kazakhstan–Canada cooperation in key sectors discussed in Saskatchewan
09.11.2025 08:01:22 161Saskatoon, November 6-7, 2025 – Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Canada Dauletbek Kussainov paid a working visit to Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
During the visit, the Ambassador took part in a roundtable organized by BHP in partnership with the Saskatchewan Industrial and Mining Suppliers Association (SIMSA), where he briefed participants on the measures undertaken by the Government of Kazakhstan to develop the mining sector and invited Saskatchewan’s business community to visit Kazakhstan to learn more about the country’s investment opportunities.
At a meeting with Tim Gitzel, CEO of Cameco Corporation, parties discussed prospects for strengthening cooperation in uranium production and the potential participation of the Canadian company in the development of Kazakhstan’s energy sector.
The Kazakh Ambassador also visited the Global Institute for Food Security (GIFS) and met with the GIFS’s leadership. During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for implementing joint projects in the field of global and regional food security.
Following the visit, both sides reached an understanding to continue practical cooperation between Kazakhstan and the Province of Saskatchewan in strategic sectors.
