At the Saken Seifullin Central Library, the educational evening “Аққан жұлдыз” took place, dedicated to the 190th anniversary of the birth of the great Kazakh scholar, historian, folklorist, ethnographer, and educator Shokan Shyngysuly Ualikhanov. During the event, a video clip titled “Шоқан өмірінен сыр шеруі” was shown. Afterward, historian Majken Zhunisov from Avicenna College delivered an informative presentation on the life and creative work of Shokan Ualikhanov. In his speech, he provided detailed information about Ualikhanov’s research activities, travels, and contributions to the collection of oral folk literature and the study of Kazakh history.

Librarian Aynur Imanbayeva presented the scholar’s works and studies devoted to his life and activities to the readers and organized a book exhibition titled “Шоқан мұрасы – ұлт қазынасы” (“Shokan’s Legacy – The Nation’s Treasure”). Students from Secondary School-Gymnasium No. 12 actively participated in the event, answering questions in an educational quiz about Shokan and reading his notable statements. The educational evening was held at a high level, left a deep impression on the participants, and contributed to expanding knowledge about the life and scholarly achievements of the outstanding son of the Kazakh people, Shokan Ualikhanov
