- London, November 7, 2025. The Kazakh Cultural Evening took place in London – a large-scale event that offered guests a glimpse into the rich heritage and modern identity of Kazakhstan.

The evening brought together representatives of London’s political, academic, and business circles, the Kazakh diaspora, as well as cultural figures, public organizations, and members of the media. The event was organized by the Embassy of Kazakhstan in the United Kingdom with the support of the Almaty City Akimat and Chevron Corporation.

From the very first moments, guests were immersed in the spirit of the steppe: they were greeted at the entrance by Kazakh batyrs – warriors whose image was recreated according to historical tradition, while the renowned Sazgen Sazy ensemble filled the hall with the sounds of nomadic melodies.

A highlight of the evening was an exhibition of traditional Kazakh crafts. Among the featured artists were the celebrated dombra maker known as the “Kazakh Stradivarius,” Zholaushy Turdugulov, and Aizhan Bekkulova, the Chair of the Union of Artisans of Kazakhstan, awardee of the Order of Qurmet, acclaimed artist. Visitors had the opportunity to explore the art of crafting folk musical instruments, traditional embroidery, jewelry, weaving, and textiles, each reflecting the distinctive aesthetic and symbolism of Kazakh culture.

Opening the event, Mr. Ruslan Karabulov, Chargé d’Affaires of Kazakhstan in the United Kingdom, expressed his gratitude to guests for their cooperation and support, emphasizing the importance of cultural exchange: “Through music and art, we build bridges between nations and peoples, uniting them in a spirit of friendship and mutual respect,” he noted.

The highlight of the evening was a performance by Steppe Sons, a group known for its alternative ethno-folk style. Blending global music traditions with traditional Kazakh instruments, the musicians created a unique and authentic sound. Their performance brought to life the spirit of the nomads, bridging the past and present in a powerful musical dialogue. The audience responded with prolonged applause, captivated by the evocative atmosphere of the Great Steppe recreated in the heart of London.

The evening concluded with a tasting of traditional Kazakh cuisine, a flavorful finale to a truly immersive cultural celebration. The Kazakh Cultural Evening became a memorable event in London’s cultural calendar, offering guests a deeper connection to the spirit, traditions, and artistry of the Kazakh people.
