Prevention of infectious diseases among farm animals in the Karatau district, including the Tassai settlement, is one of the important and ongoing tasks of the veterinary sector. To this end, scheduled preventive and diagnostic measures have been launched in the settlements of the district since November 1, 2025.

The main task is to prevent the spread of especially dangerous diseases. These include zoonotic diseases that can also be transmitted to humans, such as foot-and-mouth disease, anthrax, rubella, and brucellosis. In the event of outbreaks of such diseases, not only agriculture but also the sanitary safety of the region as a whole is at risk. Therefore, prevention is the most reliable means of protection.

Veterinary specialists visit the homes of livestock owners and conduct vaccination measures, taking into account each animal. This work is organized based on a pre-developed plan. Vaccination is constantly monitored, especially since infectious diseases are common among cattle, sheep, and horses.

Vaccination against foot-and -mouth disease is mandatory for most animals.
Vaccination against anthrax – especially important in endemic areas
Prevention of distemper – mandatory vaccination of young animals

Veterinarians also pay attention to post-vaccination monitoring. If any changes are noticed in the animal's condition, appropriate measures are taken immediately.

Diagnostics: if you notice any signs of illness, go to the laboratory immediately.

In addition to prevention, diagnostic tests also play an important role. If symptoms occur:

Laboratory samples are taken.
Accurate diagnosis is made based on the results of the analysis
Restrictive measures (quarantine) will be introduced when necessary.

This is very important to prevent the outbreak from spreading.

According to veterinary service specialists, early detection of infectious diseases prevents mass outbreaks among livestock and prevents economic losses to farms.

Animal owners have a high responsibility in preventing animal diseases. That is why veterinarians and local akimat specialists are intensifying educational work. In particular:

• The importance of timely vaccination
• Rules for keeping and feeding animals
• Compliance with sanitary and hygienic requirements
• Report symptoms immediately

In addition, residents are being educated on the procedures for legally registering and keeping livestock. Only registered animals are subject to full veterinary control and, if necessary, have access to state support measures.

Animal identification is the registration of each animal in the national information system by assigning a unique number to each animal. This system:

Rapid detection of animal movements in case of disease outbreaks
To monitor the veterinary history of individual animals
Ensuring legality during trading
Allows participation in government programs

Currently, this work is also being carried out according to plan.

The local executive bodies of the Karatau district are closely monitoring the quality and complete implementation of these measures. Veterinary specialists are being supported in providing the necessary equipment, vaccines, and transportation.

Responsible groups have been formed in each settlement in the district and contacts have been established with livestock owners. This ensures the accuracy of the available information and increases the efficiency of the work.

The expected result is:

Complete prevention of infectious diseases
Reduced economic costs
Increasing the quality and safety of livestock products
Public health protection
Increased income of agricultural producers

Considering that livestock farming is the main source of income in rural regions, these works are of particular importance.

The preventive and diagnostic measures being carried out in the Tassai settlement and the Karatau district as a whole are an important step towards maintaining the epizootic stability of the region. Protecting animal health is one of the main parts of ensuring the comfortable life and safety of the population.

Thanks to the coordinated actions of veterinarians and local authorities, agricultural production will continue to be of high quality. And with the active and responsible participation of the population, these measures will yield high results.

The health of animals and humans is a shared asset. Therefore, every animal owner should be understanding and participate in preventive measures in a timely manner.
