The first tomato crop was harvested in Shymkent as part of the opening of the Alsera KZ greenhouse complex. The event was attended by the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan Aidarbek Saparov, First Deputy Mayor of the city Aidyn Karimov, Consul General of the Republic of Turkey in Turkestan Levent Gurzhan, and representatives of Alarko Holding, led by Chairman of the Board Izzet Garikh.
In his speech, the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan noted that the implementation of this project is the result of attracting large investments and effective partnership between the state and business. According to him, the project is a clear evidence of investors' high confidence in the Kazakhstani economy and their confidence in its sustainable development.
"Such cooperation provides a great opportunity to exchange experience, introduce technology, and increase trade in the agricultural sector. We believe that joint work will strengthen food security and increase the competitiveness of agricultural products. The state is ready to provide investors with the necessary support at all stages of the project," the minister said.
First Deputy Akim of the city, Aidyn Meirambekovich, thanked investors for the construction of a modern greenhouse complex and noted the strategic importance of the project in implementing the instructions of the Head of State to attract investment and introduce advanced water-saving technologies in crop production.
"This is not only one of the largest greenhouse complexes in the country, but also an initiative that will raise the region's agriculture to a qualitatively new level. The project will ensure Shymkent's food security and increase its export potential," said A. Karimov.
The city administration also expressed its full support for such large-scale projects and is ready to provide comprehensive support to investors. Recall that the construction of a large-scale investment project worth 650 million US dollars began last summer. The annual production capacity of the complex is 155 thousand tons. The total area is 650 hectares, the first stage is 208 hectares.
In total, construction on an area of 40 hectares will be completed by the end of the year, allowing for increased production and supply of fresh vegetables to the domestic market. Approximately 2,000 jobs will be created after the first phase is launched, and 5,000 jobs will be created upon completion of the project.
It is worth noting that a special agro-academic center with a modern laboratory meeting international standards will also be built as part of the Alsera KZ project. This center will allow training qualified specialists for the agricultural sector.
