The meeting focused on key areas for developing regional trade and deepening economic integration within the ECO. Discussions focused on measures to simplify trade and customs procedures, proposals to expand private sector participation, and practical steps to implement the ECO Strategy "Vision 2025 and Beyond." Participants paid special attention to the development of special economic zones, the promotion of paperless trade, and the further growth of e-commerce—areas that are currently becoming important drivers of sustainable economic interaction in the region.
Alongside the official program, the International Halal Expo 2025 is taking place in Istanbul, where 10 Kazakhstani companies are presenting their products. The participation of domestic producers in this platform clearly demonstrates Kazakhstan's growing potential in the halal product segment. The products on display are attracting the attention of international partners and opening up additional opportunities for expanding Kazakhstan's exports both within the ECO countries and far beyond.
Reference: Kazakhstan's trade with the ECO countries remains stable and demonstrates high potential for further growth. For example, in the first nine months of 2025, trade turnover between Kazakhstan and the ECO countries amounted to $11.2 billion (January–September 2024: $10.2 billion), representing a 10.5% increase compared to the same period last year. Exports increased by 17.9%, reaching $8.3 billion, while imports totaled $2.9 billion.
