– Over the past 10 years, the European Union has become Kazakhstan's largest trading partner and foreign investor. In turn, Kazakhstan, as one of the top three suppliers of oil and uranium to Europe, plays a key role in ensuring our economic security. Today, we are entering a new stage of strengthening our relations and developing economic ties, - said the President of the European Council.

According to the distinguished guest, the European Union and Kazakhstan support a peaceful stance based on the values of multilateralism and international order enshrined in the UN Charter.

The Head of the European Council noted that efforts to ensure security, stability and prosperity in the world are reflected in this very principle.

Antonio Costa noted that cooperation with the countries of Central Asia has become an important factor in promoting relations in the modern multilateral world. At the same time, he highly appreciated the contribution of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to strengthening peace in the Caucasus region. In his opinion, ensuring security in the region provides a new opportunity to develop the Trans-Caspian transport corridor, which will lead to Europe through the Caucasus and the Black Sea.

The meeting discussed a wide range of issues of bilateral relations, with emphasis on promising areas such as transport and logistics, digitalization, energy, important minerals, and agriculture.
