On December 11, a round table was held in Astana, at which the Roadmap for the development of the export of Kazakhstan oil and fat products for 2026-2028 was officially presented.
Representatives of state bodies, processing enterprises, exporters, business associations and international partners took part in the event. Initiative
aimed at the formation of export potential exceeding 1 billion US dollars per year, as well as at the expansion of market opportunities for the sale of products with high added value
value, which should become a significant contribution to the economic and social development of the country.

The road map was developed using the processes, methodology and technical support of the International Trade Center (MTC) with the participation of the National Association of Oilseed Processors and JSC "Center for the Development of Trade Policy QazTrade" (QazTrade) within the framework of the project "Ready4Trade Central Asia: The Path to Prosperity through the Trans-Caspian Transport Corridor", financed by the European Union. The document is aimed at implementing the instructions of President Kassym-Jomarta Tokayev to increase the level of processing to 70%, reduce dependence on imports, develop products ready for export and ensure price stability in the domestic market.

The head of cooperation of the EU Delegation in Kazakhstan, Johannes Bauer, emphasized: "Today's event marks an important milestone. Over the past year, Kazakh institutions, the private sector and experts of the MTC conducted sector diagnostics, a survey company and several rounds of consultations, as a result of which a joint and well-founded Road Map was developed, which we are approving today. This Roadmap is primarily a national document developed, formed and owned by Kazakhstan, and the European Union is proud to have supported this process together with the ITC."

The document presents a set of measures for the development of the industry for the next three years, including eliminating the shortage of raw materials, introducing agricultural technologies, solving logistical problems, developing infrastructure and creating favorable conditions for farmers and processors by expanding access to financial my instrument. Special attention is paid to the accelerated diversification of cultivated areas, as well as the development of the infrastructure for the reception and storage of oil crops, which is considered one of the key factors in achieving the set goals.

Currently, the domestic oil and fat industry is on the threshold of large-scale transformations and has significant potential for further development. Kazakhstan is consistently strengthening its position on the world agro-food market: the country is among the TOP-10 world exporters of sunflower oil, as well as among the TOP-3 suppliers of sunflower meal in the European Union. Today, Kazakhstan oil and fat products are exported to more than 20 countries.

Representatives of state bodies (Ministry of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan, QazTrade, Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan, JSC NK KTZ, JSC NUH Baiterek, etc.), and business representatives (National Association of Oil Processors, Association of Seed Growers of Kazakhstan) participated in the development of the Road Map, as well as international partners - representatives of the European Union and MTC.

According to the results of the round table, it is planned to create a public-private platform for the implementation of measures provided by the Road Map.
