Kazakhstan's SCAT Airlines has completed its first flight on the new international route between Shymkent and Tbilisi. A total of 166 passengers were transported to and from the Georgian capital's international airport.

Flights on the new route will operate twice a week, on Mondays and Fridays, using modern Boeing 737 Max 8 aircraft.

The launch of the new air service is a logical step in the development of the economic and transit-logistics partnership between Kazakhstan and Georgia.

The route opening ceremony at Tbilisi Airport was attended by Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Khvtisiashvili, Tbilisi Airport Director Tea Zakaradze, SCAT Airlines Director of Own Sales Ekaterina Rusova, and representatives of the Kazakh Embassy in Georgia.
