In Shymkent, a ceremonial lighting of the city's main Christmas tree took place. The mayor of Shymkent Gabit Syzdykbekov took part in the festive event, which was organized for the first time in this format and gathered thousands of residents and guests on "Astana" square.

Every year, this symbolic event unites citizens and guests of the metropolis, creating a mood of joy, comfort and anticipation of the New Year. It should be noted that New Year's trees were lit simultaneously in five districts of the city: in Enbekshinskoe - in the park "Alatau", in Al-Farabiskoye - on the Arbat, in Turanskoye - on the territory of "Doma Druzhby", in Abaiskoye - on the square "Nauryz" and in Karatauskoye - on the square "Astana".

This evening, the "Astana" square was transformed into a real festive space, becoming the center of attraction for the city's residents. Magnificent illumination, well-thought-out thematic decoration and rich entertainment program filled the square with an atmosphere of magic. An attraction was prepared for the little guests, and the territory was decorated with more than 80 trees, enhancing the feeling of a winter holiday.

Demonstrations in figure skating took place an hour before the start of the main ceremony. Winners and prize-winners of international and republican competitions demonstrated their skills on the ice rink. The program included short and arbitrary numbers, as well as group dance performances on ice, which became a bright prologue to the festive evening.

The culmination of the evening was a concert program with the participation of local and famous domestic performers, warmly welcomed by the audience. We should also note that on behalf of the mayor of Shymkent, open-air ice rinks were opened for the first time.

This initiative to create comfortable winter recreation areas is an opportunity for even more citizens to engage in active winter recreation and spend time outdoors. In the coming days, various cultural and entertainment events will be held in the city, aimed at creating a festive atmosphere and organizing friendship between residents and guests of the city.
