Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev participated in the regular meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council in St. Petersburg.

The President expressed his gratitude to the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin for the high-level organization of the meeting and his hospitality. He also noted that the traditional meeting in St. Petersburg on New Year's Eve will provide an opportunity to summarize the year and outline future plans.

The Head of State noted that this year was a jubilee year for the Eurasian Economic Union, noting that the organization has confidently entered the second decade of development. During this period, the volume of mutual trade has steadily grown, large infrastructure projects have been successfully implemented, and the scope of industrial cooperation has expanded.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted that despite global challenges, the pace of economic development of the EAEU member states has been maintained.

According to the President, in 2024, the combined gross domestic product of the union's member states will increase by 2 percent. Economic growth is expected to remain stable in the next two years. Since the establishment of the Eurasian Economic Union, the volume of direct investments made by member states to each other has exceeded $20 billion. The volume of investments attracted to Kazakhstan has increased by almost seven times, from $600 million in 2015 to $4 billion in 2024. The volume of industrial production has increased by 29 percent and amounted to $1.5 trillion.
