Skopje, December 17, 2025 – Ambassador of Kazakhstan to North Macedonia Satybaldy Burshakov met with the Mayor of the Debar Municipality, Fishnik Mela.

The Ambassador of Kazakhstan congratulated the Mayor on his appointment and expressed a desire to deepen trade, economic, cultural, and humanitarian cooperation between the two countries. He noted the readiness to consider the possibility of establishing sister-city ties and regional cooperation.

Burshakov emphasized the importance of the local administration's contribution in promoting the city's sustainable development and comprehensive dialogue with foreign partners.

During the meeting, the Ambassador informed the Mayor about the current socio-economic development and investment potential of Kazakhstan, the progress in implementing political reforms initiated by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, as well as the prospects for expanding Kazakh-Macedonian cooperation.

Mela welcomed the opening of the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Skopje, noting that this event would be an important step towards deepening bilateral cooperation, expanding economic and cultural ties, and opening new prospects for interaction between the countries.

The Mayor spoke about the municipality's activities and its future plans, expressing interest in developing relations with foreign partners.

At the end of the meeting, an agreement was reached to develop practical cooperation, with an emphasis on supporting mutual initiatives aimed at strengthening international ties.
