The Akim of the Mangystau Region received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to Kazakhstan

On December 18, the Akim of the Mangystau Region, Nurdaulet Kilybay, met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to Kazakhstan, Sylvain Guigue.
During the meeting, the parties discussed issues related to the development of cooperation between the Mangystau Region and the French side within the framework of the strategic partnership between Kazakhstan and France. In particular, attention was given to such areas as transport and logistics, the agro-industrial complex, tourism, as well as investment and technology transfer. In addition, issues related to the development of livestock farming were considered, including the introduction of French experience in sheep breeding, goat farming, and camel breeding, as well as cooperation in dairy farming and cheese production.
The regional akim, Nurdaulet Kilybay, highlighted the region’s geographical location, the capabilities of the seaports of Aktau and Kuryk, and the role of Mangystau within the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, emphasizing that these factors provide a solid foundation for the development of bilateral partnership.
“New areas of development are being formed in the Mangystau Region in the fields of transport and logistics, tourism, manufacturing, and the agro-industrial complex. We are ready to implement mutually beneficial projects with French companies,” the head of the region said.
In turn, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to the Republic of Kazakhstan, Sylvain Guigue, expressed interest in strengthening partnership with the Mangystau Region.
It should be noted that foreign trade turnover between the Mangystau Region and France for January–October 2025 amounted to USD 3.1 million. In addition, five enterprises with French capital are registered in the region across various sectors of the economy.
