In Semey, an excavator driver attempted to bring a phone onto the territory of a medium-security facility

At a medium-security facility of the Department of the Criminal Executive System for the Abai Region, located in the city of Semey, inspection group officers prevented an attempt to bring a prohibited item onto the facility’s territory.

During inspection activities, it was established that a 45-year-old excavator driver who arrived to carry out earthworks in the industrial zone of the facility attempted to bring in a mobile phone by hiding it in the machine’s cabin under the seat. The illegal actions were promptly detected and stopped by officers of the regime unit.

During the inquiry, the man explained that he had been asked to bring in the prohibited item by a person he was barely acquainted with.

“An administrative protocol has been drawn up against the individual concerned in connection with this fact,” said the head of the facility, Zhenisbek Daurenbekov.
