On November 5 of this year, the Akim of the Mangystau Region, Nurdaulet Kilybay, met with the Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Almaty, Matthias Kiesler. During the meeting, the parties discussed current areas of bilateral cooperation, including issues related to expanding trade, economic, and investment ties.

The regional akim spoke about the geographical location and transport and logistics potential of the Mangystau region, as well as opportunities in tourism and the manufacturing industry.

“Mangystau Region is a favorable region for investment. We are interested in developing logistics and production infrastructure, as well as in implementing joint projects. Germany is an important economic partner for our region,” the regional akim noted.

In turn, Matthias Kiesler emphasized that Germany is interested in developing joint projects with Kazakhstan, including with the Mangystau Region, in the economic, technological, and environmental spheres.

The meeting concluded with an exchange of views aimed at further deepening mutually beneficial partnerships and taking cooperation between the parties to a new level.

It should be noted that more than 20 enterprises with German capital are currently registered in the Mangystau Region, operating in various sectors of the economy. According to the results of the first eight months of 2025, foreign trade turnover between the Mangystau Region and Germany amounted to USD 12.4 million, including exports of USD 370 thousand and imports of USD 12.1 million.
