Development of Kazakhstan–Netherlands Cooperation in the Agro-Industrial Sector Discussed at the World Horti Center

On 21 January 2026, a meeting was held at the World Horti Center between the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to the Netherlands, Mr. Akan Rakhmetullin, and representatives of Dutch Greenhouse Delta, headed by CEO Ms. Mirjam Boekestijn.
During the discussions, the parties positively noted the dynamic development of bilateral relations in the field of agriculture and the agro-industrial complex. Particular attention was paid to the outcomes of business delegation visits organized over the past five years, which have made a significant contribution to strengthening practical cooperation between the companies and sectoral institutions of Kazakhstan and the Netherlands.
Separate part of the discussion focused on preparations for a visit of a Dutch business delegation to participate in the international exhibition Grow Expo Astana 2026, as well as on shaping the program of a visit by a Kazakh business delegation to take part in the international industry forum GreenTech Amsterdam. The parties confirmed their mutual interest in ensuring a high level of business representation and substantive content of the upcoming events.
The meeting also included an exchange of views on current trends in the development of bilateral cooperation in the agricultural sector. Participants emphasized the importance of further deepening interaction, expanding the exchange of practical experience, and developing joint recommendations aimed at the sustainable development of agriculture, as well as the introduction of modern greenhouse and agrotechnologies.
Following the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness to continue close coordination and maintain an active dialogue in the interests of further expanding Kazakhstan–Netherlands partnership in the agricultural sector.
