As part of the implementation of the Head of State's instructions on large-scale digitalization and the active implementation of artificial intelligence technologies in the Republic of Kazakhstan, an industry meeting on "Accreditation: New Trends and Views" was held in Almaty.
The event was organized by the National Accreditation Center of the Ministry of Technical Infrastructure of the Republic of Kazakhstan and was held at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. Representatives of quality infrastructure institutes, accreditation entities, and relevant experts and scientists participated.
Vice Minister of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan Asset Nusupov addressed the participants with a welcoming address, outlining the key priorities of state policy in the field of technical regulation. Particular attention was paid to the digitalization of the industry, the development of the electronic technical regulation system (e-CTRM), and measures for its further improvement.
The central theme of the meeting was a discussion of the current state and prospects for the development of the accreditation system through the lens of digital solutions and remote assessment tools.
Iskander Khamitov, Director General of the National Accreditation Center, noted that the introduction of remote assessment is considered a key mechanism for fostering good practices among accreditation entities.
"We are moving toward systemic solutions that simultaneously improve procedures, reduce corruption risks, and establish unified, transparent approaches to accreditation. Digital tools are becoming an integral part of this transformation," noted Iskander Khamitov. He also discussed projects such as "20 New Faces in Accreditation" and "20 New Assessors." These initiatives are aimed at ensuring continuity and addressing the personnel shortage in the industry.
Certification practices in the market were also discussed. Participants noted that in some cases, high volumes of SBCTS are being issued, requiring additional attention to the quality and transparency of conformity assessment procedures.
To streamline and develop unified approaches in the industry, the national standard ST RK 4038-2016 "Time standards for carrying out work on assessing the conformity of individual vehicles" was developed, which defines the standard timeframes and main criteria for carrying out such work.
