A ceremonial graduation ceremony for the graduates of the Academy of the National Guard of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan was held in Petropavlovsk. This year, more than 150 young officers joined the ranks of the country’s law enforcement and security agencies, including representatives of the Republic of Tajikistan who completed their education within the framework of international cooperation.

This year’s graduating class has already made history. For the first time, five graduates were awarded the military rank of Senior Lieutenant before reporting to their first duty assignments. Three of them received their officer shoulder boards from the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, on the Day of State Symbols, while another graduate was honored by Minister of Internal Affairs Yerzhan Sadenov. A representative of the Republic of Tajikistan received the rank during the graduation ceremony itself.

The event was attended by the command staff of the law enforcement troops, veterans, faculty members, and the graduates’ families and friends.

This year’s ceremony combined military traditions, modern technologies, and elements of Kazakhstan’s national heritage. One of the most memorable highlights was a theatrical performance dedicated to the legendary batyrs of the Kazakh steppe. The production emphasized the continuity of generations of defenders of the Motherland and the spiritual foundations of military service.

A special atmosphere was created by the premiere of the composition “Ulan Ruhy” (Spirit of the Guard). The song was performed jointly by soloists of the Song and Dance Ensemble and Academy personnel. During the performance, four drones carrying the State Flag of Kazakhstan and the National Guard flag were launched into the sky. The use of unmanned aerial systems symbolized the modern technologies that have become an integral part of the service and operational activities of the law enforcement troops.

The ceremony was accompanied by a performance of a combined military orchestra and members of the Honor Guard Company. Under the gleam of ceremonial rifles, the guardsmen presented a spectacular drill display, culminating in the impressive unveiling of National Guard symbols.

Traditionally, the celebration concluded with the officers’ waltz. However, one of the most emotional moments of the event was a marriage proposal. Young Lieutenant Batyrkhan Abyldenov proposed to his beloved in the presence of fellow officers, commanders, and guests. The romantic gesture was met with prolonged applause and became a touching finale to this memorable day.

The National Guard Academy remains one of the country’s leading military educational institutions. Since its establishment, the Academy has trained more than 4,000 officers who continue to serve with distinction in the National Guard and other security agencies of Kazakhstan, ensuring public safety and the stability of the state.
