On 27 January 2026, the Consul General of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Izmir, Bauyrzhan Akatayev, held a meeting with the Rector of Izmir University of Economics, Professor Dr. Yusuf Hakan Abacioglu.

During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the development of cooperation between higher education institutions of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Izmir University of Economics. The prospects for interaction in the field of education were discussed, and interest in establishing and maintaining working contacts was noted.
