On January 28, 2026, Ambassador T. Primbetov of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Holy See held a meeting with Monsignor Paul Tighe, Secretary for Cultural Affairs of the Dicastery for Culture and Education of the Holy See.

During the discussion, the parties reviewed prospects for deepening spiritual and cultural cooperation between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Holy See. Particular attention was devoted to advancing humanitarian ties, expanding cultural and educational exchanges, supporting joint initiatives aimed at safeguarding spiritual heritage, and further strengthening interreligious and intercultural dialogue.

A separate focus of the meeting concerned the promotion of the agenda of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions as an international platform for dialogue, contributing to enhanced mutual understanding through engagement among religions and confessional communities.

Monsignor P.Tighe underscored the importance of the cultural dimension in fostering trust among societies, noting the strong and growing demand for forums that reinforce dialogue and solidarity. He also expressed the Dicastery’s readiness to pursue cooperation within its mandate.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties agreed to maintain working-level contacts with a view to identifying concrete modalities for further collaboration.
