THE VOLUNTEER MOVEMENT IN KAZAKHSTAN HAS ENTERED A NEW STAGE

Speaking at the Volunteer Forum, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev touched upon the pace of development of the volunteer movement in the country and provided specific data. According to the President, the number of volunteers, which was 50 thousand in 2020, has now reached 300 thousand people. In addition, the number of organizations engaged in public benefit work has exceeded 800.
Currently, one national and twenty regional front offices are successfully operating in Kazakhstan. Volunteers are implementing important initiatives in the environmental, educational, cultural and social spheres. The Head of State noted that projects such as "Young Tree", "Eco Monitoring", and "Education Volunteers" are of great importance for the country.
The President stressed the need to introduce modern technologies into volunteering and expressed his full support for the proposal to create a digital passport for volunteers. According to him, artificial intelligence and digital systems should serve the public good, and the volunteer movement should not be left out of this trend.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev also instructed the Government to develop a new strategic document for the development of volunteerism until 2030. This document will be aimed at systematically supporting the volunteer movement and developing it in accordance with international obligations.
